Academic research was done by Stefan C. Dombrowski, John W. LeMasney, and Shannon A. Dickson, and C. Emmanuel Ahia in which they explore the topic of protection of children from online sexual predators focusing on technological, psychoeducational, and legal considerations. In their research, they share technological protective considerations and advise parents or individuals to install firewall, antivirus software, keylogger, encryption, privacy filtration, chat logging, application tracking, and monitoring the browser history to ensure safety for the once using the device. They go into detail about every one of them and as well provide psychoeducational protective considerations. According to Dombrowski, LeMasney, Dickson, and Ahia, it is important to discuss potential dangers with children, supervise their Internet friends, approve children's screen names, establish rules and place the computer into a public place. The research goes into detail in each of these categories. They as well research following legal considerations and advise the parents or individuals to contact the cyber tip line in their countries if necessary (Dombrowski et al.,2004).
